There are a few bars within walking distance of the Veterans Park in downtown. Henry's is right on Main Street, as is Downtown Joes. A walk down Soscol Avenue will find the Depot Hotel, a rustic Italian restaurant nestled in between used car lots. The Depot has a new bar, the Rainbow Room, the town's only gay bar. They've got karaoke and attract all kinds of people on different theme nights of the week. They've also got a nice patio out back for smoking, as it's illegal to smoke anywhere indoors in California.
Also downtown is the Bounty Hunter, an upscale wine bar on Main Street. O'Sullivans is a dilapidated bar out on First Street, that had to close down each night at 10 p.m. due to noise complaints. It usually has karaoke, and is starting to be open later. Drinks are cheap, rebels smoke inside, and the karaoke can't be beat.
