| San Franciscans are proud of their home and for good reason--the City by the Bay has a unique charisma. It is truly an international city: within its mere 47 square miles are world-class museums, shopping, and live music and theater offerings. But the city also feels intimate. Unlike California’s other metropolis to the south, San Francisco has many friendly, walkable neighborhoods. Some of the country’s hippest bars and clubs are here but also some of California’s most impressive raw natural beauty. There are hippies and yuppies, haute couture and counter culture, skyscrapers and windsurfers. And despite the incredible diversity the city feels like a community, its residents united by an appreciation for their incredible home. |

Reviews for San Francisco |
| Marcy submitted a review on 2007-01-22 21:12... I've lived in the south bay for the past 3.5 yrs and have spent some time in San Francisco. It definitely is a fun town-- tons of bars and clubs, all sorts of events going on all the time, always something interesting going on. However it is also a gritty city, there's bums all over the place, and in many areas of the city there's the ever-present smell of stale urine. Traffic sucks (I refuse to drive in SF-- it's nearly impossible to take a left-hand turn in most places!), but public transit is ok. I like the BART and we've only had trouble with the bus system once. However, be warned-- I don't think it's possible to ride in a San Francisco bus without encountering some of the city's "flare." Also, be careful with valuables-- most people we know who've spent a significant amount of time here have some sort of story about their car getting broken into.
One last thing-- if you're going to SF in the summer, BRING WARM CLOTHES!! In the wintertime the city tends to be sunny and fairly warm (60's and 70's) but in the summer months the fog rolls in, and the temps will quickly plumment into the 40's and 50's with high winds.

The rent and housing is to high not to mention it is hard to find parking when someone takes your parking spot It May be beautiful and fun. If your thinking about living out there move outside of the city limits less headaches.

San Francisco is definitely one of my favorite cities in the U.S. Not only is the city extremely unique but there is so much to do outside of the city as well. California's 17-mile drive isn't too far of a drive and of course there's always wine country. If you choose not to leave the city though, you definitely won't run out of things to do in San Francisco. Also, don't miss having some clam chowder in a bread bowl at Boudin's.
