| Because Yosemite is such a big and famous park, it's got your entire range of accommodations options. In Yosemite Valley alone you can find everything from simple parking-lot-in-the-woods camping to the ridiculously elegant and ridiculously expensive Ahwahnee Hotel.
Tuolumne Meadows on the eastern end of the park also has a large campsite with lots of amenities that will be a little less hectic than Yosemite Valley.
If you want to camp for real you can get a free wilderness/backcountry permit and head out into the beautiful unknown. Check beforehand though. There might be long waiting lists for these.

| The Ahwahnee is both a hotel and a National Historic Landmark. And it is a pretty spectacular building; it looks like the fanciest hunting lodge you could ever dream up, with all sorts of Native American accents popping up in the decor. It's in Yosemite Valley, separated from the rest of the valley's shops and campsites, in a vast green lawn under granite cliffs. |
