Introduction to Hawaii Edit Section - Hawaii Travel Guide

Hawaii, the fiftieth state admitted to the United States, is comprised of a lush, volcanic archipelago rumbling up from the blue Pacific. Though these islands may have been inhabited as early as 300 A.D., they are still in a constant state of birth, with active laval flows (primarily from Kilauea, the youngest volcano located on the Big Island) continually forming new landscapes. Large metropolitan centers like Waikiki and Honolulu feature highrises and financial districts, but the majority of Hawaii's state revenue is generated, naturally, through tourism, both to the big cities and to the many parts of Maui, Kauai, and other, smaller islands that remain relatively intact, full of jungles laden with tropical fruits and flowers, exotic birds and other wildlife, massive waterfalls, rugged coastlines, and pristine, golden beaches.
