Chicago is the third largest city in the United States, after Los Angeles and New York. The Windy City is known for having a thriving cultural community with many world-renowned museums and other cultural institutions, a booming industry as well as being the capital of architectural invention. The great fire that in 1871 destroyed much of Chicago created a need to rebuild virtually a whole city, which paved the way for major architectural innovation that continues into this day. Some of the tallest buildings in the world are here, most notably the Sears tower whose 103rd floor observation deck offers unparalleled views of the city. Chicago is basically the birthplace of American fast food and with food joints on every corner you will never have to go hungry in this city.

If your going to visit Chicago I would definitely suggest going in the Summer.  Winter is way to cold to enjoy the city.  However, if you do go in the winter be sure to check out all the Chicago museums such as the Field Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry
