Boston is a diverse and modern metropolis with historical roots that go back to the birth of the nation. The sightseer with an interest in American history can check out the brick colonial architecture of Faneuil Hall and Paul Revere’s House, see Harvard, the nation’s first university, or simply walk the Freedom Trail.

But Boston isn’t all cobwebbed relics: amidst the brick history are the towering skyscrapers of the financial district and now over 50 colleges and universities. They city has myriad ethnic communities, world-class museums, some big-city nightlife along Landsdowne Street, and some big-city shopping along Newbury Street. The traveler can find plenty to do here, and may just learn something in the meantime.

I like Boston, I suppose. I don't have any very strong opinions about it, excepting my opinions of the Red Sox insofar as they are also opinions of Boston. But if you're going to Beantown be sure to get some seafood (Legal Seafood is excellent), see Fenway Park, and visit Harvard Square. Also, if you like clubbing, hang around Landsdowne Street near Fenway: it turns into a full promenade of booty pants-ing, Armani-exchanging, sweaty dancing.

As a native New Yorker its not easy for me to admit that I actually like Boston. Boston is a great place to visit with tons of daytime and evening activities. You can't go to Boston in the Summer without checking out a game at Fenway Park. Although tickets are tough to come by there are some options. For great Boston Red Sox Tickets that are a little pricey but worth it check out Ace Ticket. You can also take your chances with street scalpers but I wouldn't reccomend it. There are some great bars in and around Fenway. My personal favorite is Audubon. Great atmosphere and great burgers. Audubon is on Beacon Street minutes from Fenway Park. Definitely check them out.

Probably one of the best Italin neighborhoods in the US is the North end in Boston.  There are countles great Italin restaurants  - most dont take reservations - you just stroll down Hanover Street and find a plce that looks good and wait in line.  The neighborhood has very old world feel to it - cobblestone streets, winding alley ways, etc.  Also the Boston waterfront is right there -  it makes for a nice walk after a good meal.

I think one of my favorite places to visit in Boston is Harvard Square.  It's such a unique area and there's always something going on.  I think that's one of the best parts about Boston, it's hard to get bored.  You can go anywhere in the city and be surrounded by tons of historical Boston attractions
