Minneapolis, twin cities with St. Paul, is one of the biggest urban centers in the midwest, combining highrise buildings and city grit with an attractive, treelined riverfront. This, along with some nice city parks, gardens, bike trails, and lakes, helps make it a fall travel hotspot (the autumn colors here can be spectacular). A vivid arts, food, theater, bar, club, and music scene also make this a fun place to visit -- from brew-pubs to jazz clubs, art spaces to over 100 theater spaces, Minneapolis has creativity in spades. Impressive in a much different way is Minneapolis' famed Mall of America. Aptly named, it is the biggest mall in America with over 520 stores, scores of restaurants, an amusement park, and even a walk-through aquarium.
