Introduction to Gardiner
Tucked away in the mountains of southwestern Montana, this small town with a population varying (depending on the season) from 500-800 people serves as the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. While popular in the summer, this is the only entrance to the park that is open all year round. Smaller and comparitively less popular than Jackson Hole or Cody, WY or West Yellowstone, MT, Gardiner is full of hidden delights and provides more peace and less "camp" for the weary traveler. Still a true Old West town, it provides a much less touristy atmosphere than its counterparts with all the ammenities common only in much larger towns. Bars, restaurants, hotels, guest houses, campgrounds, cafes, even a great little bookstore all add to the quality of this small Montana town.
