Las Vegas has plenty of bars and clubs. The places that are popular with the younger crowd (20s) are The Palms and the Hard Rock Cafe. The casinos also have velvet-rope clubs for the high rollers. These attract a crowd of well-heeled hedonists and usually charge exorbitant covers or make you buy a bottle of liquor for hundreds of dollars.

Off the strip there are some grittier bars with a divey feel. This is also where you'll find the strip clubs. The strip clubs fall into the two categories. They either are all-nude and don't serve alchohol or topless only and do serve alchohol.

*My best friend and I spent a weekend in Vegas for her nirthday in November.  On thursday night we went to club Rio, where they have Latin night every week.  This seemed like the crowd with the most locals.  Good place for salsa, if you're interested.  On friday and saturday we went to Tryst, which had good dancing and a fun view with the waterfall outside, and also to club Pure where we waited in line for what seemed like forever (it was a saturday).  Once we got in it was completely packed, but the dancing was great anyway.  Both of these places clubs seem to be frequented by celebrities (if you're interested in some "sight seeing").  We happened to see Antionio Sabato Jr and Dave Navarro the night we were at Tryst.
