The major spots to hit on a visit to the Big Apple are all located in Manhattan.  Sorry other boroughs, but that’s just the way it is.  If nothing else, be sure to take a day to travel the length of the island, beginning with Chinatown, detouring for a trip to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, visiting midtown’s Empire State Building and Times Square, and touring the Metropolitan Museum of Art uptown.  The highlight of a trip to New York is more likely to be a stolen moment on a street corner or a great grilled cheese at a greasy spoon, however, than it is a major tourist attraction.  Plan to see a lot, but also take care to reserve time to notice how awesome it is to be standing smack-dab in the middle of one the Wonders of the World.

New York named the most polite city in the world. A lot of people have some crazy preconceived notions about NYC. Things that might even stop them from Traveling here. But a new study by Reader's Digest names New York as the most polite city in the world. This may come as a surprise to outsiders, but locals know that for a city this small geographically and this large population wise to get by, we all need to hold a door and say thank you now and then. Everyday that I spend anytime walking around the city I find a reason to say, I love NY. Come visit us and we'll give you a reason too, whether it's a man in a tu-tu riding a unicycle and carrying a balloon or a guy on the subway reading the morning paper with a parrot on his shoulder. There is always something to see here.
