Forget unleavened bread, Lent is almost over and there's a Bavarian bakery on every corner! Wilkomen to the German heart of the Cascade mountains in Washington state. This town is all Deutch, all the time. Hit the bratwurst with a heffeweisen and polish off the kraut with a pretzel, top it all off with some strudel and then hitch up your suspenders for some folk dancing. The riesling's are local, and choice, the steaks are juicy and the views delicious. At only 120 miles from Seattle, this is certainly the closest non passport requiring window into the charms of Germany. Golf, ski, hike and horse ride, this town has everything. Stay over night and enjoy the great eateries and boutique hotels.
