Introduction to Wisconsin
Wisconsin, a haven for cheese and milk lovers of all descriptions, is a rolling, wooded, green state (as well as a blue state in the political sense of the word, which is quite unusual in the midwest) that prides itself on all of its good attributes. Local beers proclaim, "Drink indigenous!" while local residents will beg you to try fried cheese curd, a greasy, squeak-between-your-teeth staple of Wisconsin food chains. Thousands of glacial lakes dot the northern half, and postcard-perfect farmlands are spread throughout. Cities like Milwaukee (which is mostly industrial) and Madison (which is a liberal, attractive, easy-going college town) have a lot to offer by way of nightlife, cultural centers, food, beer, and friendly people.
